UP & RUNNING

Last Week
After a break of almost 10 years I had to drive down the M6 on a Sunday.... I did this every week for 10 years and after the break found something out........... IT AINT ANY BETTER !
Anyway I had to attend a 3 day course on the black round things that are taking over my life.... TYRES. I knew a bit about them due to the contracts we had with tyre storage business way back in the 90's (used to get into the factory) but things have moved on and there is new technology coming all the time. Second and third day was fitting, balancing and repairing all new to me but got through it with all 10 fingers (one thumb is throbbing a bit). On the way back north I stopped in at Hometyre head office for a chat (and coffee) and saw my van for the first time all the components are now here and will be getting fitted this weekend. The livery is on but Hometyre is not happy with the back doors so its getting redone (slightly wrong colour) apart from that everything is falling into place. I'll be going back to Shrewsbury on the 12 October for a week of real life training the bring the van up to Edinburgh for a start date of the 19th.

Big Trip small move
Things are moving along nicely (all be it a bit slower than I'd hoped) but nobody said it would be easy. I've moved from my parents house in the east of Edinburgh to a small flat in the west of the city ... it has a garage of its own so the Tomcat has somewhere to stay too. I had to get a new phone and number after 15 years with the same number and when I work out how to use it I'm sure it will be OK ! My new Citroen van got delivered to Hometyre head office in Shrewsbury last week and is getting sign written just now there is a small delay with the tyre fitting equipment witch is coming from Italy but should be here by the end of this week. I start my training last week in September with a launch date of mid October !
